Using Mobius you can easily and quickly generate C & bridges. But Xilinx users still need to assemble these into a XPS project -- and creating a multiprocessor XPS project from scratch is not easy.
Now there is an automated way! Use the tool XPSupdate to
- parse the Mobius source to identify all SW targets, and bridges
- augment any existing BSB-created XPS project with the Mobius-generated SW applications and bridges
- replicates Microblaze microprocessors and peripherals if there are several SW targets
The resulting XPS project is ready to compile!
XPSupdate has several immediate benefits:
- Xilinx engineers say that you should budget about 1 man-month to create a typical XPS project -- XPSupdate does this for you in seconds.
- Xilinx does not provide any significant demo multiprocessor implementations -- XPSupdate automates this incompletely documented implementation path, automatically handling details such as mapping stdin/stdout to all microprocessors.
- XPSupdate builds HW/SW implementations using a variety of user-selected bridges (e.g. PLB, OPB, FSL)
- All SW applications use Mobius channels (mapped to bridges) to synchronize and communicate, so you can start the microprocessors in any order
